Determined to help her daughter, Jessica agrees, though her cooking experience is limited. As Jessica’s culinary skills improve and Chloe warms to the horses, Jessica spars with cowboy Wade Dawson, whose family owns the ranch. Romantic tension is a constant between Jessica and Wade as she manages to crack some of his hardened exterior to reveal his kind and caring nature. Their sweet, sensual romance and the mother-daughter relationship between Jessica and Chloe provide the heart of this earnest novel. One bent rule leads to another and Wade is soon out of his depth with the beautiful and spirited Jessica as she struggles to focus on her daughter's progress while falling for the handsome cowboy with a heart for troubled teens.
